The Quiet Pause

A glance behind at paths you've trod,
Where lessons bloom from every stone.
The "right" and "wrong," the grace of God,
The seeds of soul that you have sown.
You hold the joys, you face the stings,
The echoes of a distant choice.
But in the peace that stillness brings,
You find a truer, deeper voice.
It isn't grief that keeps you still,
Nor pride that makes you turn away.
It's standing high upon a hill
To watch the breaking of the day.
A lightness rises, bright and bold,
To buoy the heart and clear the mind.
The future waits to be unrolled;
The heavy weight is left behind.
With poise and grace, the search is done,
The inner spark is finally triggered.
Into the warmth of rising sun,
Step forth-soul-full and newly figured.
